To protect the countryside, 40% of Hong Kong's land area has been designated as 24 country parks and 22 special areas for the purposes of conservation, recreation, education and tourism. The first batch of country parks was designated 40 years ago in 1977. The country parks not only protest diverse flora and fauna, but also bring us a variety of interesting outdoor experience and unforgettable memories. To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Country Parks, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) will organise a series of celebration programmes commencing from April 2017. Let's set-off to experience the enchantment of the country parks!
